In THE CALLING OF ELLA MCFARLAND, which is set in 1905, Lily is thrust into an unfamiliar world that bears little resemblance to her former life. How she responds testifies to her character, tenacity, and bright mind. 

When Baxter, our brand new Cavapoo, showed up on our doorstep yesterday–with 2015 pedigree in paw–he was thrust into a strange new world. A bit scary. 

Unnamed faces.

Unknown voices. 

Unfamiliar scents, noises, and rules.

Downright uncomfortable.

Baxter adjusted, as I knew he would. His pedigree testifies, after all, to his character, tenacity, and bright mind. But when I look into his chocolate eyes … when he nuzzles my neck … or twirls in circles at the sight of me … do I care a speck about his bloodline? 

No, pedigrees don’t matter in this place called Home. Unconditional love has taken over.
